Learning Web Design from Alaska

Learning web design from Alaska is not what our VLN students thought they would be doing this term.

But it’s true! Jenni Hammonds is a New Zealander currently living in Alaska. Jenni beams into our library lounge in Room 6 each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. (which is actually Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. for Jenni!) VLN students Nick, Fergus, Jovarn, Daniel, Aidan and Abbey are always on time and ready to learn when Jenni connects.

Some of the topics include:

  • Why do we have websites?

  • What are they used for?

  • Why do businesses have websites?

  • What is the purpose of making your website different?

  • How do I add information into a website?

Three of these students have just been made VLN Experts because they were VLN learners last term and are experts at being organised, connecting quickly, and doing VLN homework given through Google Classroom.
