# Making sticks, stick

### Room 3 have been learning about identifying patterns and relationships and explaining the rule for the growing sequence numbers.

Our first task was to identify the missing numbers and identify the rule to the growing number patterns.

To find the pattern we realised that the difference between each number was 6, so…

Answer - 27, 33, 39 and The rule is (n + 6) add 6 each time to find the next number in the pattern.

Our next task was to use sticks to continue given patterns, and identify the number of sticks needed to make the new shapes in the pattern. We then record our learning in a table and had to use the rule to think about the number of sticks used for the 10, 50 and 100th pattern.

We are working towards correctly completing tables and learning to describe the sequential rule and to describe the direct relationship.
